November Things

Winter is my least favorite season. It's too cold, it makes driving difficult, and the first snowfall is the only good one. Still, I can't deny that I love how much brighter the mornings are when the sun is reflecting off of blankets of snow. I love big comfy sweaters and thick socks. I love the seasonal coffees and Christmas decorations. I love snuggling up the couch with a cup of hot chocolate and watching a movie. Being warm inside feels extra special when the outside world is frozen. I don't like winter, but man, the winter months can be nice.

Here are some (other) things I've enjoyed this November:

– Aziz Ansari's new Netflix series "Master of None." It's more real-life and less sitcom-y than I expected, but still worth watching. (While we're talking about Aziz, go watch his "Buried Alive" special too.)

– I invested in good quality pairs of winter boots and snow boots and am in love with them both. I don't think I've had actual snow boots since I was in elementary school, which is ridiculous considering I live in the Chicago area, known for its nightmarish winters. I'm finally going to have warm, dry feet!

– All of you PLEASE go watch both John Mulaney stand-up specials on Netflix. I found both of them so funny and could probably watch them on repeat for a week straight, no problem. At the very least, watch his bit about Back to the Future.

– Music-wise, Andy Grammar's "Good to be Alive," Selena Gomez's "Same Old Love," and Justin Bieber's entire "Purpose" album.

– I'm sure we all heard about Essena O'Neill quitting social media. Personally, I think what she did is admirable. Everyone is allowed to use their social media outlets whatever way they want and post what they want, and it's not always a negative thing. However, it's important to keep in mind that what you see on social media is not always 100% accurate to real life. Chances are you are only seeing the good parts of someone's life. Don't take it seriously enough that you're feeling bad about yourself.

– Currently very jealous of Taylor Swift's New Zealand adventures.

– A big thank you to everyone who made me feel so special during my three-day birthday weekend. It was the best one yet.

Also, I just dyed my hair brown. Happy Monday!
