A Thank You Note

If you are reading this, thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to read the things I write.
Thank you especially if you in turn share some words about it, with me or with others.

Life will always have its ups and downs. Inspiration ebbs and flows. For the past couple of weeks, I've felt a bit disheartened.

Why?
Comparison.
Always the culprit. The thief of joy.

I struggle with this more often than I'd like to admit. I am blessed in that I'm surrounded by great people who are doing great things. Running blogs, switching jobs, visiting new places, moving. Their weekdays are more productive than mine, their weekends are more eventful. Because of social media, I'm hit with it from every angle. There are times it makes me doubt myself.

So I retreated a bit, silently feeling a little sorry for myself. Now, it's time to counteract that. To put that energy into something positive. I'm doing that through a new blog series, created to shine a light on the regular, everyday, inspirational people in this world. I'm surrounded by amazing people, so why not put a spotlight on them? Why not celebrate them? That's what we should all be doing anyway – celebrating each other – even if we do feel a little jealous sometimes.

I'm excited about it. The first story is going to be posted on Sunday, and I've really enjoyed putting it together. It's going to be a fun project that will serve as a constant reminder of what we are capable of achieving.

And it's not just me in this journey.
It's you.
Your stories, your encouragement, your support.

This whole thing might be a little silly; I don't have a huge audience, so maybe I'm only thanking a handful of people, but I think it's worth saying.

Without you, I'd still be blogging, but with you, it's so much more worthwhile.
