May Wrap-Up

"Your life does not get better by chance. It gets better by change."
Jim Rohn

I'm reformatting the way my monthly wrap-ups are structured again because (1) I think broader categories will be better, and (2) it's the kind of change that makes me feel creatively motivated. LET'S GO.

May was my first full month in my new place with my boyfriend, and it's been really great. We've been checking out our new neighborhood, biking around and exploring different places. Our apartment complex also has two small lakes on the property, and I've found that nothing is more peaceful than an evening walk around the lake.

One thing I've been antsy to do now that we're settled in and summer is coming is buy some plants. Believe it or not, I've never actually owned a plant before. I want to add a few to the windowsills and hang a few on the overhang over my balcony.

This month I also went indoor skydiving for the first time, with my family for Mother's Day. It was awesome.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation. It has great coverage and blends really well. Of all the foundations I've tried, this one has also been the best at matching my skin tone.

My new "Future is Female" sweatshirt. It's honestly the most comfortable sweatshirt I've owned. I wear it all the time.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk conditioning spray. This came in my FabFitFun Spring Box and I love it. It leaves my hair feeling silky and soft. Especially since I gave myself bangs again, I've been using more heat on my hair, with the blow-dryer and straightener, and this has definitely helped prevent it from drying out.

Of course I've had Harry Styles' new album on repeat a lot of the time. Favorite tracks right now: "Sweet Creature," "Two Ghosts," "Kiwi."

Lovely thoughts about embracing your inner weirdness and feeling understood.

My friend Laura celebrated her birthday with a list of fun and fashionable things from the last year.

Little ways to make you feel alive.

I've been enjoying Rachel's "3 things from the past week" posts.

A new podcast I've been listening to here and there is "Mind Body Musings" with Maddy Moon. Maddy is a former fitness competitor. Her health-conscious behavior had hit an extreme, and she was using her fitness lifestyle to cover up her disordered eating. Now, she is a life coach and uses her podcast as a platform to inspire women to "play bigger, speak louder and take full advantage of the one life they have been gifted."

Next week I'm leaving for Colorado for a few days to visit my friend. It'll be nice to see her again and to have a few days off of work for a mini vacation.

I also have a Finding Your Spark interview in the works with a published author that I'm very excited for you all to read.
