3 Things From The Past Week // 06

Sunday, September 17, 2017

1 | One of my neighbors in my building sometimes plays piano in the evening, and it's such a lovely, soothing thing to listen to. We hadn't heard him play in a while until one night last week, when my boyfriend suddenly said, "Do you hear that?" and we paused whatever we were watching to listen to the music.

2 | Sometimes writing on this blog feels like I'm screaming into the void and no one's actually listening. Or maybe not screaming. More like talking kind of firmly because let's be honest, I may post twice a week, but one of those each week is these three thoughts, so I could do more. And I want to do more. I want to write more regularly so that I can work ahead on posts.

Anyway, I got a message on Instagram the other day from someone who told me I had a great voice in my writing, and that felt nice.

3 | Every year I do a "treasure hunt" race in my local county, where 15 teams of six race around to 15 different sites to solve clues that lead them to the next site. The goal is to hit as many of the sites as possible within the five-hour time frame. It's amazing that it's planned by normal people, and different people every year. It's a blast. And I'm glad I got to sleep in this morning.
