3 Things From The Past Week // 19

Sunday, December 24, 2017

1 | Tuesday was the last day of the year that my whole team at work would be in the office together, since various people have different days off during the last two weeks of the month. To celebrate, we went out for drinks after work, then hung out and played games. We met one coworker's wife and another's boyfriend. At one point, he turned to her and said something like, "Are the people you work with like this? Like, you can tell these guys are actually friends."

I know I've said before how special it feels to be friends with the people I work with, to get along with them and enjoy their company. But I'm saying it again.

2 | Last year I sent out nearly 20 Christmas cards to various friends and family. I spent a lot of time crafting personalized messages to each person, letting them know how great they were, wishing them the best for the year ahead. This year I was debating for a while on whether I was going to send any out again. I wanted to, but I also felt like I didn't have time to write them and send them out in time to arrive before Christmas.

On Wednesday I came home feeling happy and festive and spur-the-moment decided to do it. I sent cards to a handful of friends which felt nice to do but I'm stuck with this feeling that it wasn't enough. I was pressed for time and didn't write as much as I could have, or should have, and some of them might not even get the card until after Christmas. I hope they know that they matter to me.

3 | All of last week I did Adriene's seven-day chakra ride and loved it. It focused on one chakra every day for seven days. A chakra is basically an energy center in your body. All seven are located along your spine and are associated with different traits/aspects. I've enjoyed learning about them through the videos and am interested in reading more about it all.

This is my last 3 Things post. For now, at least. I decided to discontinue them because to me, it felt like what I wrote was either insignificant or repetitive when paired with my monthly wrap-up posts. And if it felt like that to me, it probably felt like that to you too.

Instead of a weekly 3 Things, I'll be sharing what I've been up to on a biweekly basis, every other Sunday, starting in 2018. Yay.

I hope you all have a very happy holiday.
