Sunday Shares | What I've Been Loving

Sunday, February 11, 2018

Hi, friends. Thanks for checking in. What an eventful two weeks it's been.

I went to see John Mulaney at the Chicago Theatre with two of my friends. I had bought the tickets back in June and the six-month wait was totally worth it. Seeing a comedian live and laughing together with a group of people is one of the best feelings. I also had the cutest Galentine's Day celebration yesterday filled with mini waffles, a cookie cake, and good company.

As a side note, I've been trying to get in the habit of saying "excuse me" instead of "sorry." I realized I apologize a lot when I don't have to. I want to try to eliminate it from my vocabulary when it doesn't have to be there so when I say it for real, it means more.

Here's what I've been loving lately:

"This Is Us"

This show will be the death of me. My boyfriend has asked me why I watch a show that makes me cry so much, but at this point, I'm too invested. The Super Bowl episode was as heartbreaking as I thought it'd be, and the episode after that was even worse and so beautifully sad.

On a more positive note, did anyone notice that the Super Bowl Rebecca was watching in present day was the actual 2018 Super Bowl from real life? So cool.

Tazo Dessert Delights

More Tazo products! I'm actually not a huge tea drinker, so when I find some that I like, I need to share. The Dessert Delights flavors are delicious – Vanilla Macaron and Butterscotch Blondie. Would recommend.

"Janet Mock: Redefining Realness" – Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations podcast

Should I have known that Oprah had a podcast? I came across it for the first time just a few weeks ago and haven't listened to an episode I didn't enjoy. I encourage everyone to check out this one in particular. The conversation focuses a lot on Janet Mock's transgender experience, and I learned a lot while listening.

I loved the whole dynamic of the conversation. Oprah would ask questions in a genuine attempt to learn, and Janet would answer and explain in such a kind way. Even when saying something like, You'd be wrong to say that, or Yes, that is/would be offensive, she's understanding about the fact that it isn't common information.

Deco Miami Lavender Cuticle Oil

This came in the fall FabFitFun box and is a great example of a product I would never think to buy for myself but was happy to receive. My cuticles aren't high on my priority list, but if I've got it, I might as well use it. And I feel very classy when I do.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard's "Africa" video

I am two years late to the game on this one. Why didn't anyone send this to me in 2016? Apparently during their trip to Africa, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard made a video to Toto's "Africa." It is funny and amazing.
