Sunday Shares | What I've Been Loving

Sunday, March 11, 2018

Hi, friends. Thanks for checking in. I've been feeling refreshed and rejuvenated this week. Slowing down really did me good.

Last week I was sick and spent every free minute I had lying on the couch trying not to cough up a lung so hard and rewatching "The Office" again. This past week I felt better and eased myself back in to my normal life. Morning yoga as the sun comes up, off to work, an evening workout where I feel strong instead of drained, then being productive around the apartment before chilling out and unwinding before bed. I actually slept a solid seven to eight hours each night which is unusual for me but felt great. Plus I randomly trimmed my hair one night in my bathroom. Classic me.

Here's what I've been loving lately:

Crazy Wheel game

I don't play many games on my phone. If I download a game, it's usually in and out. I play for a week or two and then uninstall. This game, though, has stuck around for a while. "Crazy Wheel" is one of those puzzle games where every time you fail a level, you think, I'm so close, just one more time, I know I'll get it over and over.

I've made it to level 275 and have been stuck there for a few weeks now. (Yes, I have a life, why do you ask?)

Brown Sugar Chestnut candle – Chesapeake Bay Candle

Despite how much I love candles, I don't buy them too often because of how long they last. I think I have four, and I've had them all for a while. This one, though, I couldn't resist. The second I smelled it, I knew I had to get it.

The description on Target's website is that it has notes of "roasted chestnuts, brown sugared pecans, and cinnamon vanilla swirl amongst true earthy notes of acorns, maple trees, and fall leaves." It's so cozy. I've been lighting it nearly every day since I bought it.

MAX Coffee Drink Mix

I guess this could be considered instant coffee since it's a powder you mix with water, but don't let that deter you. It tastes great. Their Indulge series includes three flavors: Mocha, Mocha + Salted Caramel, and the one I opted for, Mocha + S'mores.

I bought this based on appearances alone. My friend had told me she saw it at the store but she hadn't tried it yet, so I didn't know if it was even good, but anything s'mores flavored is hard to pass up. Turns out, it's great. I keep it at work for those days I need a little afternoon pick-me-up but I might have to bring it home so I can enjoy it here too.

"Queer Eye"

I'd been hearing so much about how great this show is yet no one warned me that it would make me cry. How dare you. I watched the first episode on Friday when I was trying to have a cozy night in by myself and unexpectedly turned into an emotional mess.

For some reason, ever since the original series back in the early 2000s, I thought "Queer Eye" was a sitcom-type show. It's not. It's essentially a makeover show in which five gay men makeover a straight man, from fashion and style to interior design to food choices. It's not at all what I thought it was but I'm really liking it.
